Catering Company Opens Cooking School

A catering company recently opened a new cooking school in Wilton, Connecticut after being in the business for nearly two-decades.

The AMG Catering company, owned and operated by Alison Milwe-Grace, has decided to open a cooking school in Wilton to offer cooking classes to children and adults in the area.

Milwe-Grace has partnered with an event coordinator to get the cooking school going. Event planner Olivia Savarese is a long-time friend and will be the director of the children’s cooking classes.

In addition to running her catering business, Milwe-Grace is an instructor of culinary art classes at an area high school. Savarese is an event coordinator with experience in the culinary arts and a passion for cooking. AMG Catering recently moved to a new facility on Danbury Rd and now has a stainless steel teaching kitchen that is ideal for the cooking classes and a prime location for events as well as running the catering business.

The cooking school’s classes will be themed and focus on a specific aspect of cooking, a specific ingredient, or a specific culture in the culinary arts. They also intend to focus classes on holiday meals, diet limitations due to health conditions, and foods that impact the global ecology or environment. The cooking school will offer courses in knife working, sauce making, and any number of other culinary art topics that are requested or invented by the duo.

In addition to the classes offered by the cooking school, they will offer party and event services that include cooking demonstrations and classes for birthdays, holidays, and other celebratory occasions. The venues for the events are spread out throughout the town, so guests and customers can choose from a variety. They will even plan floral arrangements, photographers, birthday cakes and other aspects of the event, leaning on Savarese’s extensive event planning background.
