Food Network Chefs to Teach Cooking Classes

Many chefs discovered their passion for the culinary arts through simple, one-time cooking classes at a local establishment. Such a class is coming to Atlantic City, where celebrity chefs wills be part of a lineup to teach cooking classes to food enthusiasts at one of the most popular restaurants in the city. The classes will be offered in cooperation with the Viking Cooking School, an institution dubbed the “playground for cooks”:

(NJ.com) “Atlantic City is quickly becoming a true culinary destination with Harrah’s Resort helping to lead the charge,” said Chef Jack Whelan, Executive Chef at Harrah’s Resort. “Viking Cooking School really is a playground for cooks, and epicureans will be delighted with our new summer classes and celebrity chef guest instructors.”

Viking Cooking School will also offer seven new classes this year, featuring a full spectrum of eating and learning.

At, Girls Night Out: Bahama Mamas” you’ll learn how to prepare the grill, make Jamaican beef patties and enjoy Bahama Mama cocktails.

The “Titanic Dinner Party”, is a class featuring favorites you might find on a luxury cruise, including lobster thermidor, lamb chops with mint glaze and chocolate eclairs.

“Date Night: Playing with Fire” is a perfect couple’s night out, learn about, grilling and testing steak for doneness as and you7’ll go home having the knowledge of how to flambé.

On June 29, Sam “Sammy D” DeMarco of Sammy D’s Restaurant and Bar at Harrah’s Resort is in the Viking kitchen for “Cocktails and Cravings: Keepin’ It Hot! with celebrity chef Sammy D”. Chef Sam will demonstrate some of his most popular appetizers including the popular spicy chicken drummettes, cheesestreak dumplings and pork eggrolls.

Viking Cooking School will host two Food Network Star contestants, Season Seven’s Chris Nirschel and current season contestant Malcolm Mitchell.
